Topic: Kickstarter

Just wondering if you've considered submitting this project to Kickstarter. Considering how far along it's already come, I imagine it would be exceptionally easy for you to launch a successful campaign. Donations could not only allow you to concentrate on forming this into a mass-market product, but you could also add a ton of additional features that would prove impossible without proper funding, such as hiring professional 3d artists and animators to generate a respectable library of pre-built character designs, animation sets, particle effects, etc. I could easily see this being sold at major retail outlets, kind of like Manga Studio. With Evo coming up, it seems like the perfect time to get a campaign launched and generate a ton of buzz around it.

Re: Kickstarter

Just wanted to follow up with a few ideas. If you did manage to get the funding, you could package UFE with character customization software to make it a full package, including pre-built (but customizable) animations, prerecorded sounds and music, and tons of pre-made effects, etc. Just look at games like APB that not only let you customize your character to an insane degree, but also your equipment and clothing. Sure that game blew, but the customization was insane! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WhOTrc5554)

I think by combining your incredible UFE engine with something like an in-depth customization system, you could multiply your target audience exponentially. It would also open the floodgates for user-submitted content and microtransactions.
