Topic: moving forward and pressing up only gives forward jump

I'm using a running motion for my forward movement similar to Power rangers battle for the grid, however while moving forward the only jump option I seem to get is the forward jump, I would like to be able to jump back and straight up from my forward movement too. But it seems to be only able to jump forward with forward movement.  i am not using move files for my jumps currently and was wondering how I could fix this issue, any help is appreciated

Hmm, input wise this sounds impossible.
Can you provide a video with input display on what your trying to do?

Sure thing. There has to be a slight pause in order to jump straight while moving forward. i seem to be able to jump back instantly with no problem but only the straight neutral jump from backwards and forward  movement seems to be impossible

Can you turn on the debug? I have a feeling after you let off forward it's still in the moving forward state.
I don't know how basic move jumping works code wise so I just have a few hunches as to what might cause the behavior.

It does seem like it's still in the moving forward state when you tried to neutral jump after moving forward.

Tbh I don't know how jumping basic moves work in the code. Some more testing or figuring out how it works code wise could lead to a solution.
